My first Time Lapse with an intervalometer (cheers Adam) the new toy arrived just in time for an amazing Lunar Eclipse, it was a rather difficult situation, every now and then I had to adjust the exposition in order to obtain the best details of the moon, I didn’t achieve it in all the shots but i think the result is rather pleasant.

I would have loved to stay until 5:30am to see the whole eclipse but it was a very cold night and my bones could not resist it, hope you enjoy it and don’t forget to leave your merciless comments.

San Pedro Martir es located in Baja California Mexico, an incredible almost untouched piece of nature. The interesting thing about this place is its location, Baja California is all desert, pretty much at sea level, but right in the middle of the state a huge mountain chain rises all the way to 3096 m (10,158 ft). The skies at San Pedro Martir are one the cleanest in the world and so, it was selected to place the National Astronomical Observatory. It is run and operated by the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM).

I spent some time living in Ensenada Baja California, only 3 hours away from San Pedro Martir. When we planned the journey we packed everything to camp in cold weather conditions and depart, the road was just stunning, arriving to the junction we started at sea level and an hour later we were at 2885 m (9,465 ft) and it was snowing, a very bizarre experience bearing in mind that we were surfing the day before at Ensenada and suddenly the whole landscape had a white layer.

The moon was full and very bright that night, this is a night shot, the whole picture is very well illuminated by the moon light and the landscape is covered in a thin layer of Snow, absolutely Stunning!

The moon was shinning high in Tulum Mexico that night, you wouldn’t need a torch to wander around that place. This is a 5 minutes shot, i was amazed when i saw the result, it looks just like daylight with stars.
